A stye is a small grain size lump that occurs on the edge of the eyelid. It is caused when an eyelash follicle gets infected by bacteria.

A stye is a little painful on the eyelid and causes irritation in the eye because of the constant blinking.

A stye gets treated by itself and no special medication is required. However, since it is a bacterial infection, one needs to keep the eye clean and should not touch the stye. It takes about 3-4 days before it gets cured by itself.
